CATHERINE COURTNEY was born in Melbourne. As a mature-aged student, she gained entry into Deakin University studying part-time to gain her B.A., majoring in writing and literature. She has written several magazine articles, specializing in travel pieces, and has undertaken editorial work from time to time.

Her role as editor of Ups & Downs has certainly proven to be a most challenging but rewarding task. Catherine’s other interests include golf, travel, theatre and reading.
